A 32-year-old man has been jailed for eight years in connection with threatening and abusive behaviour and a serious sexual assault on a woman in the Dumfries and Galloway area.
Chad Robertson (32) was sentenced at the High Court in Glasgow on Wednesday, 26 June 2024 after previously being found guilty of the offences against a woman between 2016 and 2020.
Detective Constable Gemma Gibb said: “Robinson has been found guilty of serious sexual violence and he now rightly faces the consequences of his actions.
“This was hugely distressing for the victim, and I commend her strength and hope that this sentence came bring some sort of closure.
“Police Scotland is committed to bringing the perpetrators of sexual abuse to justice, regardless of the passage of time, and we will continue to work closely with our partners to ensure victims are fully supported.”
