Back in January, we received reports of shoplifting at Sainsbury’s in Newton Stewart and Morrisons in Stranraer, with stock worth thousands of pounds stolen on the same day.
Through our investigations, all four individuals who targeted Galloway have been identified as being part of a larger gang of travelling shoplifters, who will be traced and reported.
Our colleagues in border policing apprehended one of them as they re-entered the UK at Birmingham Airport and will now appear at court.
