ESSENTIAL RESURFACING ON A75 AT CASTLE DOUGLAS COMMENCES SUNDAY 9TH JUNE

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential resurfacing and drainage works on the A75 at Castle Douglas between Hightae Roundabout and Rhonehouse Junction from Monday 10th June until Tuesday 9th July.

The resurfacing work will be carried out using overnight convoy working between 8pm and 6am each night between Monday 10th June and Friday 21st June. There will also be daytime Temporary Traffic Lights to facilitate the cooling of deeper sections of treatment. There will be no overnight work on Saturday 15th June and Sunday 16th June, and all traffic management will be removed by 6am on Saturday 22nd June.

The drainage work will be carried out under daytime temporary traffic lights between Monday 24th June and Tuesday 9th July.

The B736 junction at the roundabout will be closed between 8pm on Monday 10th June and 6am on Friday 14th June. There will then be one further overnight closure only of the junction between 8pm and 6am on Friday 14th June with all traffic management removed by 6am on Saturday 15th June. Local traffic will be diverted via the A745 at Allanton Roundabout through Castle Douglas.

Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.

This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the condition and drainage of the carriageway and reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.
