Community officers from Stranraer and Newton Stewart attended a commemoration event at Garlieston yesterday to mark the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings. Superintendent Robison was also in attendance and laid a wreath at the war memorial.
Garlieston was chosen to build and trial sections of Mulberry Harbours that would be used on D-Day.
