This year’s Lockerbie Gala Queen Lacey Thom was crowned at a ceremony in McJerrow Park on Saturday.
Lacey was assisted by her two senior attendants Keilly-Shae Cloy Gray and Sarah McKie as well as page girl Amelia Chambers; flower girl Lottie Ramsay; and junior attendants Katie Boyd, Mairi Bodell, Ashley Dobson and Devahn MacDonald.
She was crowned by last year’s queen Ella Howatson as invited guests watched alongside the public in the park
The ceremony, led by gala and ROM chairperson Ian McLatchie, also saw the sashing of this year’s principals, Cornet Kieran Patterson, Cornet’s Lass Anna Kennedy and Standard Bearer Lori Mossop.
They were all back on ROM duty on Sunday for the Kirkin’ Of The Cornet.
This week sees the gala run tomorrow, gymkhana on Thursday, and the Cornet’s Ball on Saturday, with Mid Annandale AFC Primary six-a-side football tournament on Monday (June 3); penalty kicks on Tuesday, June 4; a visit by principals to care homes and schools, and also a pet show on Wednesday, June 5; gala golf tournament on Thursday, June 6; car treasure hunt on Friday, June 7; and gala day on Saturday, June 8.
