Free support roadshows return for charities and community groups

A series of free support roadshows for charities, voluntary and community organisations, and social enterprises is back on the road this summer.

Third Sector Dumfries and Galloway (TSDG) staff are visiting towns and villages across the region from Stranraer to Gretna.

The roadshows take place twice a month, with one each in the east and west, and provide an opportunity for the third sector to seek support on governance, volunteering, or funding.

TSDG exists to promote, support, and develop a strong third sector; develop social enterprise; and develop volunteers and volunteering.

One-to-one slots can be booked, or you can drop into the roadshows and Community Engagement Officers will also be visiting local organisations in the area.

Norma Austin Hart, TSDG’s Chief Executive Officer, said: “Now that summer is almost here, we are excited to get out and about with our roadshows. We gain so much by speaking to community groups and voluntary organisations in their own space and locality and we hope that they benefit from meeting us face to face too.

“There is a lot on offer, so please come along and encourage your colleagues, friends, and volunteers to join a roadshow near them.”

The roadshow timetable is: Whithorn, May 24; New Galloway, June 21; Eskdalemuir Hub, June 29; North West Dumfries, July 13; Stranraer, July 20; Lockerbie, August 17; Gatehouse of Fleet, August 24; Dumfries Town Centre, September 12; Newton Stewart, September 19; Castle Douglas, October 4; Gretna, October 10.

You can also request free support at any other time by emailing [email protected] or calling 0300 303 8558.
