A Dumfries takeaway has been served a top award in a national competition.
Benvenuto on Eastfield Road has been named as Pizza Takeaway of the Year for the south-west.
Staff from the business received the accolade at the second ever Scottish Takeaway Awards held in the Marriot in Glasgow last week.
Linda Paolinelli, from Benvenuto, said: “We want to give a sincere thank you to all our many customers who have supported us over the years, and of course to our highly committed and dedicated staff who work tirelessly to please our customers.
“We have put Dumfries on the culinary map for the south-west of Scotland.”
A spokesperson for the Scottish Takeaway Awards said: “The 2023 winners have consistently demonstrated excellence, innovation, and dedication in their respective categories, setting the benchmark for quality and service.
“Congratulations to all the winners and nominees and thank you to everyone who participated and supported this event.”
Moore’s Fish and Chip Shop in Castle Douglas was named best takeaway in the south of Scotland.
