It’s A Knockout-style fun is returning to Stewartry Rugby Club.
And people thinking of taking part in the charity fundraiser are being urged to get their entries in now.
The Anderson family are hoping to build on the success of this year’s event with Rock Out at The Knockout at Greenlaw on June 1, to raise more funds for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF)
Community pharmacist Soenaid Anderson’s daughter Maisie was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 2015 when she was 10-years-old.
Soenaid said: “It was so good this year and we just need to keep the ball rolling because, unfortunately, we’re no further forward and there’s more people who have been diagnosed since last time.
“We just need to keep fighting the battle.
“It’s a local community event, it is never just us that organise it – it’s such a community effort.
“We’ll have 24 teams and we have half the spots filled already so if people want a team I’d suggest they get in now.
The 2024 fun day will also include live bands and DJs, a fairground, facepainting, family entertainment, inflatables, cocktails, burgers and lots more.
It costs £250 to enter a team with a £50 deposit needed to secure a slot.
To claim a spot or find out more, contact Soenaid on 07913 893561 or her sister Emma at The Market Inn in Castle Douglas or through their Facebook page.
Soenaid is also keen to hear from any local bands, singers or acts who would be willing to perform at Rock Out at The Knockout to help raise funds for JDRF.
