A police investigation has been launched after a man died in a car fire in southern Scotland.
Emergency services were called out at about 08:40 on Thursday to the incident on Burntscarth Road in Locharbriggs near Dumfries.
Police said a 61-year-old man was found dead at the scene and his family had been informed.
A short statement said the death was being treated as unexplained and inquiries were ongoing.
